Thanks Pat - will try doing some experimenting Regards Mark -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Pat Martens Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2007 2:30 AM To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [foxboro] LLAG Block My general approach is to 'play' with these type of dynamic algorithm block. Set up a trend display (I recommend FoxAnalyst), do some steptesting, fiddle around with all the parameters involving the dynamics, do some more steptesting, watch the results. This gives me a lot more insight to what these blocks really do. You might be surprised with some of the results when you start with all the different modes of a PIDA block (including LIMOPT's)! I've did some testing like this on the LLAG in the past and if my memory does not fail me, if you set the LAG2 > LAG you will get an overshooting response when stepping the input, similar to the 'D' term of a PIDA block. Specifically interested in knowing what "quadratic lag time " is and how it could be used Thanks in advance Regards Mark _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
