To see the open data sets,

1) Start foxtst
2) Enter the 900 command
3) Enter the 13 command - dstbl
4) Enter 1 at the 'begin set [ 3 ]:' prompt

You will see a list of open data sets that looks like this:

set dsi nent ctyp cqi setname
   --- --- ---- ---- --- ----
     1 1 17 1 0 All_Opened_Read_Objects
     2 12001 8 2 0 All_Opened_Write_Objects
     3 24001 8 4 0 1AW51E:RDBK:W AIS W:000

You can see the that on my machine I had three lists open. The first two
are always open and hold all the points (R-only in data set 1; RW in
data set 2).

Does this help?

Hi Tim,

I think you're spot on, from what I've heard from one of the
Batchexperts
at foxmass. I believe the max nr of datasets can be 3000, (currently
it's
set at 100) any idea how I can find out how many datasets are in use?
I've
used foxspy, but I can't seem to find the number of datasets....

I believe the error you are describing indicates that all of your
available FoxAPI sets are open, hence the call to open yet another one
is failing. Check your configuration and see if you can increase the
number of sets that can be opened, that will probably solve your
problem.

Subject: [foxboro] IAbatch scopen error

Question for any of the BatchSuite users on the list:

We're running IABatch 8.0 on an AW51 E with 6.3. (On a mesh system, but
we're not using the windows batchsuite, we kept it on a unix box)

We're experiencing scopen errors when we try to restart BatchSuite after
an exit and shutdown. When the IA driver is being started, the scopen
error appears...

IADriver:IADriver, scopen, AIS.c 409 (error: 22), 1
IADriver:IADriver, ERROR: Open set failed (AIS scopen: reterr=4), , 1

The only sollution is either rebooting the AW51 E box, which is usually
not possible, or restarting the foxapi, which is possible but a
nuissance cause then I have to stop and restart PI....

Has anyone experienced this before and how did you solve it? I expect a
reboot of the AW will solve the (synch ?? ) problem for some time, but
this is not my preferred sollution...

I ran foxspy and checked the log files but cannot find any reason why
Batchsuite would not recognize the foxapi being online
