Dirk,

I'd use oma to check the status bits on the CBPs to see if they match
what the display is telling you.

If oma shows OOS then the issue is in the CP. I doubt that this will be
the case, but you should check it.

If oma shows that the status bits are good and FV indicates that they
are not, the problem is likely to be:

1) A bad connection in the graphic
2) A bad OM table in the graphic
3) CP communication limitations

Use dedit's verify option to check the tags.
Use pdf_pack for DM or fdf_g and g_fdf for FV to clear out the OM table.
Check the CP's communication capabilities with rsom.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [foxboro] Fw: smurfing String's

Hi List,

I have a couple of DM displays containing strings/discretes and IO000#'s
from sequences. These strings are configured as follows:
C:B.IO0001
Continuous selected
Connected to text
Parameter .SN0001

the discretes are
C:B.IO0001
lowest state 0
number of states 60
0 =3D text1
1 =3D text2
etc....

This setup works on all displays except on 1 or 2, where all of the
string
values connected to this IO0001 are smurfed. They show the correct
strings/text but the field background is blue. When I refresh the
display a
couple of times the smurfing sometimes disapears, but not always. When I
set the IO0001 to another value (this IO0001 is the trigger for the
string
value or text to be updated) the smurfing disapears also.
I've been using this setup for the last 12 years or so and it always
worked, but a couple of days ago the smurfing problem started to appear,
strangly enough always on the same displays.
Any ideas on how to avoid this smurfing?

Thanks & Rgds,
