The default operation of any environment when its called up on a remote
terminal (not the console of the AW itself) is to have OM Set operations
disabled.
You enable them by adding a line into the environment change file. That line
should read
enable omsets
That will, as it says, enable OM Set operations, and will put a message in the
message line of FoxView saying so.

Subject: [foxboro] Faceplates: Setting Process Variables Disabled
EXTERNAL EMAIL
(TO:PREMIER)
Hi List,
I've got involved in a recommissioning of an old plant, basically with no
supporting documentation for I/A (8.5) or FoxView (10.2.2). There are
4 environments available, operators have been using one for engineering in the
past. When we instructed them to use the one for Operators, manual operation
from faceplates became blocked ("Setting Process Variables Disabled" message
when trying to ramp or enter a value). As said, this is an old system and
there's no background information or documentation available & no one has
Foxboro background. While the whole idea of manual operations being blocked in
Operator environment is very strange, are there any hints what could be done?
Thanks.
