Stan,

Thanks for the suggestion.  My relationship with IT is probably as good =
as it can be for a process control guy.  Actually we have already =
discussed the idea of DHCP supplying a specific IP address based on the =
MAC address of the PC.  The IT folks are concerned about having to =
update the table if a PC is changed, but said they would consider this =
if there is "no other way".

Well, one possibility (if you have good relations with your IT group), =
is to
have there DHCP server supply fixed addresses for the PC's that need =
remote
DM access. DHCP does _not_ imply non static addresses unequivacly. It's
actually quite flexible (at least the none MS servers I'm familiar with, =
and
I would hope that MS's works as well).
