Interesting ..... I should be trying this in Lab before too long as Siemens S7 is our PLC of choice. From what I saw on the AB side (we talk to a Solar Turbine using a ProSoft TCP/IP module) it is standard RTU Modbus and didn't require any special drivers. ************************** Troy Brazell DCP Midstream ISA CCST Sr. Process Control Analyst Office 405-605-3877 Cell 405-301-2994 tlbrazell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ************************** -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Badura, Tom Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2010 12:23 PM To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [foxboro] Control Logix 5000 with an Integrator 30B [more info] A little off subject, but maybe a good time to throw this out. Has anyone used the FBM232 to talk TCP/IP to Siemens S7 PLCs? Does Foxboro support and provide software for communicating with Siemens S7s or only the Rockwell AB stuff? It does require a ProSoft card on the AB and some additional programming on the PLC. Also you would have to be on the Mesh run CP270's. ************************** Troy Brazell DCP Midstream ISA CCST Sr. Process Control Analyst Office 405-605-3877 Cell 405-301-2994 tlbrazell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ************************** _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
