Interesting ..... I should be trying this in Lab before too long as
Siemens S7 is our PLC of choice.
From what I saw on the AB side (we talk to a Solar Turbine using a
ProSoft TCP/IP module) it is standard RTU Modbus and didn't require any
special drivers.

A little off subject, but maybe a good time to throw this out.  Has
anyone used the FBM232 to talk TCP/IP to Siemens S7 PLCs?  Does Foxboro
support and provide software for communicating with Siemens S7s or only
the Rockwell AB stuff?

We are using the FBM232 and talking TCP/IP to our AB works great and is
very easy to setup on the DCS side. It does require a ProSoft card on
the AB and some additional programming on the PLC. Also you would have
to be on the Mesh run CP270's.
