The ultimate fix for this issue is to have Rev H or higher FCP280 modules.

The note to install ferrite chokes on the 24Vdc power inputs to the CNI, FDC280 
and FCP280 Baseplates was added in B0400FA-AE, the factory started shipping 
these inside the CNI, FDC280 and FCP280 boxes at some point thereafter. 

There are instances where the later revisions of the FCP280 image have reduced 
or eliminated the False Power Fail reporting.

Contact your local Schneider/Foxboro Field Service Representative or Global 
Customer Support Center for details on qualifying for FCP280 replacement and 
ordering the ferrite chokes (if not installed).

WeâEUR(tm)re told firmware has to match on both modules & ferrite cores have to 
be installed. Issue seems to have disappeared at Tronox.

Not sure if this is related to your problem, but there is also a kit 
for
a
ferrite core that goes onto the power cables right next to the plug 
at
the
CP baseplate.
See Customer Advisory FCP280, FDC280, and CNI Power Cable Ferrite 
Core Requirements, June 5, 2019 Advisory states the following:
Ferrite cores are used to suppress electromagnetic interference 
(EMI). It is better to attenuate system interference presence 
detected at the
source
before they find their way to multiple high frequency "sneak" paths. 
Once the EMI noise is in the system, it can easily migrate through 
the ground system as common mode EMI noise.
These ferrite cores must be installed on all FCP280, FDC280, and CNI 
baseplate input power cables to make the EMI emissions and immunity
levels
fall within the parameters of the EMC directives.
Ferrite cores must be installed on the DC Power cables, as near to 
the baseplate as possible, to ensure proper and stable module 
communications and installation compliance with EU Directive 
2014/30/EU on
Electromagnetic
Compatibility.
Review your installation to determine if you have ferrite cores 
installed and they are completely clamped in place. If you require 
new ferrite
cores,
kit AG101EL can be ordered by contacting your local support office. 
Each kit will contain (2) BF162YG ferrite cores, (4) cable tie wraps 
and
special
instructions.
For orders received prior to June 30, 2022, there will be no charge 
for these kits. After this date, ferrites will be available at 
standard
pricing.

Hello All,
For the 2nd time we have had a CP280 start to show failures in 
baretail/sysmon log.  We only have a total of 4 CP280's at our site.

Example:

2019-05-20 04:35:17 25CP01 Equip = CHAN_1 SYSMON -00222 CP Power 2 
failed
2019-05-20 04:35:17 25CP01 Equip = CHAN_1 SYSMON -00223 CP_Power 2 
OK

The failures do not cause the system light to flash green, no * on 
the
CP,
but only show up in the log.  The fault occurs and clears within the 
same second.  And they occurred progressively more often over time 
(a couple
of
weeks) Power supplies and connections all look good.  Disconnecting 
a
power
connection causes the exact same error.  The first time it occurred 
we changed the shadow module but the errors re-occurred.  We then 
replaced
the
other partner and the problem went away.  Now the problem has shown 
up again on another CP in another area.  We have replaced the shadow 
on that one and are waiting to see if the errors return.  When I 
called them
about
this on the first occurrence TAC told me they had seen this before, 
it
was
something about an optocoupler inside the CP and was not a real 
power failure.

This time the errors say "CP Power 1" instead of 2.

Anyway, just curious if anyone else has experienced this.  Could it
really
bite us?
