You would have to look at release notes for your current rev of the CP's to be 
sure, but I think you are correct. Certain new eeprom on FBM's will not work on 
CP's with older eeprom levels.

I have a bunch of FBM10s that show communication failure on both A and B 
fieldbus. I am assured that these were working. However, in this system using a 
CP30, they fail. I do have one FBM from a different area that works, so I know 
the system is okay. Is it possible that these failing FBMs have a later EEPROM 
update that would make fieldbus communications fail on earlier systems?
