Mr. Hawker does a masterful job in setting forth the "meat " of this
passage. THe LORD is faithful unto HIS own. They can be identified by
the fact that they call upon HIS NAME, since HE has sent the SPIRIT of a
son into their hearts, crying ABBA FATHER. HE will not cast off those
whom HE loves but ever holds them tight in HIS bosom even when they do
not hold tightly unto HIM. HE never forsook Peter even though Peter
denied HIM three times. HE avenged Peter from the condemnation of his
own flesh (which is the sworn enemy of the SPIRIT that presently works
in the sons of GOD both to will and to do of HIS good please) as HE
pressed Peter to declare his love for the LORD three times even as he
had denied HIM three times. HE works in HIS own people suddenly and
without warning.
