Hi everyone,
I would like to pass on the experience I had Sunday afternoon. I was flying
back to Taos from Tucson, at 13K feet MSL, and between ABQ and Taos I
encountered a large flock of very large birds, probably cranes but I can’t be
sure, could have been geese, at my exact altitude. Suddenly the flock was
there, all around me, I had no time to react, fortunately they swerved in every
direction. Scared the crap out of me. So keep an eye out for these migrating
flocks this time of year. Obviously they are flying at pretty high altitudes.
