Please let them understand if Richter's bill (just filed 2 days ago) gets
passed, there will be no home rule for oil and gas.
We really need support from the counties and cities, because if this gets
rooted, it is these municipalities that have to deal with the consequences of
bad management of our natural resources. Ask them to appeal the legislators
push and vote on a ban bill, Repubs and Dems.

FYI and I haven't heard if this will pass muster, but this is a big one-about a
million residents there.

Subject: UPDATE ON FRACKING RESOLUTIONS

Dear Commissioner McKinlay:

This the first chance I have had to contract you; lots going on. On Tuesday we
added two more counties to the list of those that have passed resolutions of
support for the legislature to outlaw fracking. We now have 15 counties,
adding Martin and St. Johns. Before they joined us the 13 counties and cities
with resolutions in counties w/o accounted for 31% of Florida's population. I
don't have the latest population figures, however, but they are obviously now
totally over 31%. Adding PBC would bring the numbers very close to 40% and
that's an impressive figure. Everyone who looks at my map states that we must
add PBC. It is now the lone blank of the southeast coast counties from Vero
Beach to Key West. When can we do a presentation?

Sincerely,

Richard C. Silvestri,

Ft Pierce
