For anyone who needs a getaway, the annual Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup is
scheduled for March 11,12,13 at the Nolan County Coliseum in Sweetwater Texas.
I went there 2 years in a row in 1967 & 1968, thanks to my uncle, Sam. It's
really very interesting and you can buy snake skins and other trophies as well
as an opportunity to eat deep fried rattlesnake. Sweetwater is located on I-20
just 40 miles west of Abilene. Nolan County Coliseum is on the north edge of
town by Newman Park,The roundup is always on the second weekend of March if you
can't make it this year.
