Steve. You are 100% correct. When I was working on security at Woodward before
I retired, Kaspersky security software was banned by the us government for all
defense contractors and subcontractors.
If anyone is using it they should remove it and get something else. Even if
you think you have nothing the Russians would want, you do not want your pc
being used as a back door into a system into which they do want access.

billion users globally) Kaspersky Antivirus, there is a warning out to
remove it and install another alternative. This goes for a PC, iPhone,
or Android devices. The U.S. government banned the Kaspersky products
in federal systems in 2017, citing links to the Russian government.
No issues have been Identified yet, but the concern is that the Russian
government could use it for spying and hacking. Why take that chance?
