annexed Ukraine and was brutalizing the population. So when Hitler invaded,
Many Ukrainians saw Nazis as liberators and joined the cause, even helping to
round up and kill Jews. This offers some explanation of Putin's use of the
word Nazi for Ukrainians. DP
