Interesting thought... and one I might try.. however, what you suggest is easy
to do with Exchange 5.5.. Exchange 2000 is different.. so will have to
investigate Thank you,

have you tried to leave the mailbox in place and just recreate the user
profile? When you delete the user profile don't delete the mailbox. Or you can
right click the user profile, select exchange tasks and remove attributes. Then
go back and reconnect the user mailbox to the user in AD. You can then try and
disable the account again and send mail and veify that sync. is taking place.

From time to time we engage vendors and instead of removing their accounts, we
disable them so they can be enabled upon their next return...

what is the purpose of having a mailbox if you don't have an enabled recipient?
 Linda Wilson <lwilson@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: http://www.MSExchange.org/
The mailbox is not disabled, the user is.. so the mailbox receives incoming
mail.... we have other user ID's that are disabled and the synchronization
occurs with no problem... Thanks

Why is the mailbox disabled? Isn't this why your having problems syncronizing?

Hi all,I am unable to find any information regarding Event ID 9583 and
MSExchangeIS Mailbox.. we have 4 Exchange 2K servers w/SP3 running on Win2K,
SP3. The description says:Exchange could not synchronize the information for
mailbox xxxx (mailbox store: xxxx) with the information in the directory (error
code: 0x80070005). I have searched MS, and www.eventid.net doesn't know either.
The mailbox owner is a disabled account, however, none of the other disabled
accounts respond in this way. Thanks for your help....
