sending SMS as E-mail alerts

I am running Exchange 5.5 sp4 on windows nt 4 sp6a.
Some of the users want to receive SMS on theri cell phones if there is an
e-mail from their Boss. We r working in two time zones. The users want this
facility to serve them when they are away from office.
I know that few Mailing Portal like REDIFF.com do this. Can it be done on
Exchange.
Any help will be appreciated.
