The fact that the KB was first written for Outlook XP/2002 does not
minimize, one jot or tiddle, the fact that the regedit also applies to
Outlook 2003.

First KB article is for Outlook XP, we are running Outlook 2003. The
on looks more interesting, I'll try it on my test machine here, I had
suspicions about malformed or corrupted messages.  This might explain
why the 
problem occurs when I pop from the remote users account, but not when
from my account, will try the registry edit and report back.
