Hey there,

Be4 lmhosts file it's going to use broadcast for name resolution. He could
try typing down the IP Address instead of the name of the Exchange Server to
the client.

Uninstalling the server and removing the server from AD would be a annoying
but seems like a good solution like Al said.

Regards,
CK

ps If you are using front-end / back-end topology MAPI clients like Outlook
cannot take advantage of this. As you know they access the store directly.

Hellok,

Name resolving is the issue of DNS please try to ping your exchange server
with its host name and update your lmhosts file.I faced this problem several
times, at last I used to create another user account on the client machine
and configure it.I hope this is the final solution and will work with you
too.Try to create another user account then try you will deffenitely get it

Subject: [exchangelist] cannot connect outlook to exchange 2003?

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hi everybody,

i have a windows 2003 server here running Exchange 2003 enterprise.
Everything seems in order on the server level, but whenever i try to connect
an outlook 2003 or outlook 2000 client to the server the client crashes. The
OWA is working and i can log in that way. The event viewer on the
workstation reports nothing wrong. The event viewer on the server reports
that i need to optimize the exchange memory. But nothing else.

now i have checked multiple things. The information store is running and

the stores are mounted and there is no smarthost filled in on the SMTP
connector (i found that that could cause this error (entry in google).

the other odd thing is that when i open the "post" icon in the control
panel, fill in the proper exchange server and username for the exchange
profile and then click on "check name" the program also crashes.

Does anyone know what is going on and how i can resolve this?

Thanks in advance,

Marcel
