For which? Disabling LSA altogether or changing the interval?

Apparently, there is an interval key (was just reviewing this and the last
slides are of interest to this conversation:
<http://www.cc.isel.ipl.pt/FTPEventos/TechED/>
sessoes/Messaging/MSG323.PPT> ) but I don't see it doc'd.

From the SP2 Deployment Guide:

When the state of a network link is changed, status information is sent to
all other servers running Exchange 2000 in the organization. When working in
large routed environments or networks that constantly suffer from outages,
link state traffic can possibly account for a large proportion of the total
traffic on the network. In some environments, especially hub-and-spoke
routed scenarios, it is advantageous to turn off link state routing or
suppress it on certain servers. With Exchange 2000 SP2, it is possible to
suppress and disable link state traffic by use of the following registry
parameter:
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ RESvc \
Parameters
Parameter name: SuppressStateChanges
Parameter type: REG_DWORD
Parameter value: 0x00000001

So have you got any idea what the reg key is for this?

If the resvc is turned off, is it off for all of the RG's? Where is the LSA
information coming from? Your site? Or some other site? In other words,
is it just being passed along from a RG Master in some other RG to this
site? I would have expected once the link was listed as down, that it would
only send the updates on 60 second intervals, not every few minutes send a
bunch. That sounds more like it's passing the information on from other RG
Masters and acting as the central relay hub.

You can turn link state off altogether if it helps. There's a regkey that
allows this. I have not heard of a way to change the interval, but that
would be a nice thing to have. You may have to check with Microsoft and see
if that's doc'd internally.

If you run a netmon session on port 25 then you can see lots of these coming
through every few minutes. This is with the Routing engine turned off.

Just so I understand this correctly, do you want to stop sending routing
updates or just change the frequency? If the frequency, what is the current
frequency you're seeing (i.e. every five minutes a 20k message is sent etc)?

All
    Would appreciate some input.

We have problems on a regular basis with slow network links. Even though the
Routing engine is turned off the servers at the end of wet pieces of string
continue to get routing updates.
These are smtp over port 25 deltas. They literally say that the connection
is up or down. Since they send out to all in the same routing group then the
amount of traffic is more than enough to swamp the poor link. What I need to
do is to limit the amount of deltas that are sent out. I want to say deltas
can go out every 20 mins say. Does anyone know how I might achieve this?
