Restoring Exchange from flat files (?!)

Our exchange server crashed a few days ago, the only backups that get done
are flat file backups with the services started (I know, I know - before
you say anything not my doing and that will change !) Anyway, Exchange
has been rebuilt with the same site name etc. Is there ANY way of getting
back the public folders using the pub.edb file that was backed up? I'm
not interested in anything else at this stage other than the Public
folders
Any help would be gratefully received
