They keep an archive of communications about training with each customer. So
when a customer makes an inquiry, they move that mail from their customer to
the PF, along with their answer for documentation purposes; All that along with
commercial purposes docs, supplier negotiations, etc. They keep very few things
on the mailbox.

I don't know, I've already tried to leave the wireless syncing the PF's and
after a long time outlook would corrupt the OST because it got too big. I don't
know if SharePoint would suffice, it wouldn't be as easy to use as the PF's.
They are very resistant to changes.

Also, from times to times, we clean up and maintain only two years of history.
All the rest goes to our archive.

Yeah, big folders can cause pain, although it would really be just the
initial sync, after that, unless huge changes take place on a daily basis,
the sync traffic would be relatively small.

Now, then, onto my soapbox - if you have PFs with 3 GIGs PLUS of data in
each, maybe a public folder isn't the right mechanism for that storage? A
SharePoint repository would probably be a better solution, or an FTP site if
those are just really big files.
