Restore from backup? Isn't that a bit risky? Wouldn't you prefer to have a less risky way of doing this? Like installing the new hardware, burning it in, and then moving the mailboxes, folders, etc to the new machine? Outlook even makes provisions for this by updating the profile as long as the old server and new server are online. Just a thought. -----Original Message----- From: Zoran [mailto:zmarjanovic@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2004 4:26 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Re: Moving Exchange 2003 / win 2003 to cluster and enterprise editions. http://www.MSExchange.org/ You should instal exchange in recovery mode Run>setup.exe /disasterrecovery, so you get back your setings and mailboxes. Restore from backup should do the job. Enyway, as I didn't work with E2k3 yet, you shoud check it more in MS KB and try to find solution on http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&group=microsoft. public.exchange2000 Cheers > Thanks Zoran, > That has been the entire plan, but was concerned about the storage .. > if the advanced editions may not recognize it. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Zoran [mailto:zmarjanovic@xxxxxxxx] > Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2004 11:15 AM > To: [ExchangeList] > Subject: [exchangelist] Re: Moving Exchange 2003 / win 2003 to cluster > and enterprise editions. > > http://www.MSExchange.org/ > > Hi Syed, > > you just need to install w2k3 (advanced/enterprize edition) on the new > hardware, install clustering service, configure clustering, install > E2k3 on the new hardware (it will install exchange's cluster aware > services) and that's it.
