Geoffrey Under Exchange 2000 we technically do not have an Internet Mail Service, what we have is an SMTP Virtual Server, if you look under the server in the Exchange System Manager, you will see the Protocols container, in the Protocols contain you should then see SMTP and then you will see the "Default SMTP Virtual Server", you can make certain configuration chances here, and if you need more flexibility you could add an SMTP Connector to your environment. I recieve an error saying that there is already an Internet Mail Service installed on the server but there is no service and it does not exist in the connections tree or anywhere else in the Administrator program.
