Forestdnszones app partiton(OT)

Ok, am I missing something here?
I thought one of the main points of this concept was so the forest
_msdcs.forestroot.com which contained the GC RR's and the DC GUID cname
records could be accessed and updated from any child domain in the forest?
But the ForestDnsZones app partition only has site specific ldap records
DC's.
What happened to the GC/DC GUID records?
