Sure, you can put back a duplicate Exchange forest and server etc. But why?
A RSG would be much easier don't you think?

Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange 2000/2003 Restore question

http://www.MSExchange.org/

We have a need to restore a mailbox from a tape that was made of an Exchange
server that has since been decommissioned. Are there any options other than
using the Recovery Server method?

Thanks.
Mark
