instead of creating a user called sales and forwarding to outside contact, you
could create a distribution group called sales and have the only member as the
contact record for the external person you created in ADUC.

I have the need to create an email alias i.e. sales@xxxxxxxxxxxx which
simply forwards to an outside address i.e. salesguy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Currently the only way I know to do this is create a mailbox in exchange
2000 by creating an AD user. Then creating a contact with the outside
address. And finally forwading the mail to the contact. I feel that
this
is a security hole as an unneeded user account exists that can be
comprimised. Any ideas.
