Hi John

Currently we have an old Watchguard Firebox 2 running on old Firmware which,
unfortunately, I cannot upgrade. I am potentially looking at a Fortinet 300
device. Have a look at the site below for more information. Our ISP can offer
this device at a very good price. We will have the hardware covered by
extended warranty, they offer 24 hours tunraround in the event of hardware
failure, and software\firmware support is directly from the vendor.

http://www.fortinet.com/doc/FGT200_300DS.pdf

My first choice would be ISA 2004 on Windows 2003 but for only 30 users I
honestly cannot justify the cost. Also as our Exchange 2003 box is also our
FSMO I could see that being a problem unless I was to put the ISA box in a
separate Forest. I would be inetrested to know your thoughts on that one. Any
way I look at it I can see a potential security issue.

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Many thanks for your help.

Reagrds,

Paul Lemonidis.

What firewall are you using, and what flavor are you looking into?

Of course, my first recommendation is ISA, but SonicWALLs are also great.

  Hi John

I am very grateful to Al for his help. I am now pretty convinced this is a
Firewall issue as when I manually setup a second dedicated connector to the
second MX record for the affected sites the messages are delivered. I was able
to confirm this today, for certain. Most of the Domains affected only have
problems from us which does also lend weight to my theory. The good news is
that at least I have a temporary solution for now even if it not very elegant.
Looks like it is time to invest in a new firewall.

Once again both. Many thanks for your help.

  Regards,

  Paul Lemonidis.

Coming in late on this one.

Al provided you with some good information.

If you have further problems, post, and even though I will be at a client
all day on Thursday, like I was today, I will try to jump in and see if I can
lend a hand.
