The weather looks fantastic for the All Arizona Star Party next weekend.
Join us at the Hovatter Road Airfield for a fun chance to observe and
socialize with your fellow amateur astronomers. Temperatures are forecast
for highs in the mid 80's and upper 50's for the lows (don't forget to dust
off those jackets). If you are arriving early the toilets are scheduled
for Friday, but may arrive a little early based upon their schedule in the
area.
Friday has a potluck scheduled at 5pm. Bring some food to share under the
tent and get to know some new folks.
Saturday fun starts at 4pm with our customary Temperance Union Happy Hour.
We have some great raffle prizes for the drawing at 4:45, with tickets at
$1 each or 6 for $5. The Taco Dinner starts at 5pm at only $5 per person,
a better deal than some restaurant with a bell logo. Sunset is about
5:45pm. Drop by the tent after 9pm both nights for a cup of coffee or
cocoa and a chance to brag about your visual conquest of those faint
fuzzies.
Please drive SLOWLY to avoid kicking up dust at the site, and park closer
to the entrance if you will be leaving early to avoid too much light as you
leave.
Keep in mind construction on I10 in west Phoenix. There are closures this
weekend, but I am not sure about next. Look up AZDOT.GOV for info on any
detours or congestion.
