Dear Barry:

continued:

to eliminate the > in the e-mails that you copy and paste, just open edit
replace, and write the symbol > on the "replace" line, and a space on the
next line. In "word" there is a symbol on the menu that you can push to see
all the hidden tab breaks, paragraph breaks, etc. It looks a bit like a
backward P with two stems, and is toward the end of the top line of symbols.
Press on it, and you can see if there are paragraph breaks at the end of
each line. (these look like the same backward, 2 stemmed P). If there are,
eliminate them with edit replace, putting ^p on the top line and space on
the bottom.

You can also eliminate excess spaces this way. Spaces appear as little dots
when you are working in the "show all symbols" mode. If you find that there
are, say, spaces of 3 dots all over the place, just do edit replace, put the
spaces on the top, and 1 space on the bottom - so all the three spaces will
change to one space.

Yours,

Sharon Tzur
