Many times I have seen or heard "someone should contact the media …"
All one has to do is
A) make a phone call and ask for the reporter on educational affairs

B) send a fax, addressed to same
C) Send an email addressed to same
You needn't be interviewed, but that's all it takes to wake them up, so
don't wait for someone else – do it
