I often teach Phizzog by Carl Sandburg for purposes of comparison to the
Frost poem, and usually, before I teach either poem, bring in the very short
story, or parable, by Somerset Maughm called Appointment in Samaria (which
deals with the theme of fate, the antithesis of the Frost poem, in my
opinion). Usually provokes an interesting discussion. Both can be found
on the Internet but if you can't find them, let me know.

Good luck, Maxine Tsvaigrach
