I like the railings. Having a 100+ year old kitchen table that is natural golden oak, it's what I match everything else to. I don't like the white railing, though - again - looks cheap, like you didn't want to spend the $ for nice wood. But it must be out of style because there's a significant pile of them at the Restore next to the brass stuff.
but you're right - golden oak has been done to death and dates things. I see a lot of a warm light cherry stain nowadays. that seems to be what is popular.

Yep, please ignore the ugly golden oak railings, I've only lived here 3 months, that will get changed eventually. The furball by the door is max, Mario is the 100 lb lab on the bed. Best of buds.
