Thanks- Sure makes life better having someone to happily share life with I too have 4 good jack stands, they get high enough for anything I need, the bottom skirt/stand part is solid thick metal, I don't remember the brand but a friend of mine who owned a few "Gloria Jeans???" coffee shops bought them a while back when he was obsessing with racing- He cleaned out his garage got rid of all his stuff, and I was lucky enough to have been there to take much of it off his hands, right after his parents and wife sat him down and told him he needed to get out of racing before he ended up broke. I also have a pair of the tallest highest rated jack stands I could find- back when I had lifted full size trucks standard sized ones just wouldn't do it- One thing that ive learned having a POS jack, is that I needed good solid jack stands- Got the Toyota parked in the new part of the garage over night, windows all removed from the house, chomping at the bit really want to get out there and run wiring and go buy some drywall, insulation and peg board- but I have Charlie this weekend so we are trying find something we can all do together. A good wife and a good jack are essential. (In that order for me) I have found that having 2 is not a bad thing either. My Brother in law Jerry bought me a jack for Christmas before Cindy and I were married. He was impressed that I even wanted to learn how to work on my own car. It was encouraging. He is living with us now, and using it! I don't think he even remembers that he got it. I inherited another one kind of like what you have when the other brother in law was divorced. Working on the frame bushings, it was great to have 2. I have 4 good jack stands too. Essential equipment. Have a great day! I had been using dads old jack he got from Kmart in 1986. Super Crap for a jack and Im lucky to still be alive, the wheels/tires/casters whatever would fall off it all the time. Actually shot out from under the 51 the other day when a tire fell off it under load, always having to find a block to make it lift something higher, or id have to put blocks under the tires so it would go lower.. Pretty excited but I have to get used to the handle- I used it when I was changing the brakes in the Tacoma this morning- the handle smacked he plastic flare pretty good= luckily no dent Anyway- Im excited to hopefully not have to worry about building ramps to get my cars off the jack anymore! Yeah its from Harbor Freight- and weighs 77lbs!
