Pele, it was good to hear about your father, not least because it was nice to think of you sharing a love of reading. I don't even have that many friends who love reading as much as I do, apart from my book group chums. It's a wonderful thng to share. Also, I think that's the genius of Pratchett - he displays the kind of anarchy that sits well with old and young alike. Hi Junel I don't have a problem with Terry Pratchet drawing on any aspects of other people's writing. I thought I would tell you all about my father to show that people of any age could appreciate his writing. But not me, although I have laughed at some parts that people have read to me. Somewhere in this discussion "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" was mentioned. If I was consistent I should not like it at all, but I love the original radio programmes and the books.
