I am pretty sure it was Richard north Patterson, one of his presidential
series, possibly "protect and defend".

 

I enjoyed it but not many of our group thought much of it.

I haven't ever fancied his books, but then I don't like a lot of American
politics, okay, I don't like politics of any country much.
I did watch a film based on one of his books and didn't care for it.  I do
remember when we read a book for this list about the American Senitor, that
was really great.  Can someone remind me which author that was?  I keep
thinking it was Vince Flynn, but I'm sure that's not right. I think it might
have been Alan's choice.
