Hello there:

You can achieve what you want to do very easily:

Let us use, for example, "1,2,3,4." and you want to have the braille period/full stop to appear between each number and after the last number in the sequence in the braille file.

If you can use six key entry using your keyboard, type the characters as you would like them to appear in the braille document, in the same way as you would using a perkins-style keyboard.

If you cannot use six key entry using your keyboard, you will have to use the keys that correspond to braille input or, you will have to enter the characters using the ASCII values that correspond with the braile table.

If you are using a standard American QWERTY keyboard which does not allow you to use six key entry, you would enter the above example as described below.

If you are not using a standard American QWERTY keyboard, you will have to experiment with that keyboard to produce the desired result.

Note: do not include the quotation marks around the letters and numbers.

1. place the cursor on the number 1. Press CTRL+LEFT SQUARE BRACKET and type the letters "cz" (without the quotes" and press ENTER, to insert the [cz] code into your document.

2. Press "SHIFT+3" (above the letters), to insert dots 3-4-5-6, to display the braille number sign.

3. Press the letter "a", to represent the braille number 1.

4. Press the number "4", to represent the braille period/full stop.

5. Press the letter "b", to represent the braille number 2.

6. Press the number "4", to represent the braille period/full stop.

7. Press the letter "c", to represent the braille number 3.

8. Press the number "4", to represent the braille period/full stop.

9. Press the letter "d", to represent the braille number 4.

10. Press the number "4, to represent the braille period/full stop.

11. Press CTRL+LEFT SQUARE BRACKET and type the letters "tx" (without the quotes" and press ENTER, to insert the [tx] code into your document.

Everything that is entered between the [cz] and [tx] codes will be transcribed (correct word), without any interference by DBT.

When you surround text with the [cz] and [tx] codes, you are telling DBT to transcribe that text exactly as is, don't touch it, leave it alone, regardless as to whether you are transcribing from print to braill or from braille to print

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

Subject: [duxuser] numbered headings

Hello!

While trying to translate a document that contains numbered headings, for example, something like "1.2.3. bla-bla-bla", I get something like "#a1b1c4 bla-bla-bla-", that is, the first number is preceeded by a nuber sign (dots 3456), foolowed by a number, then by a coma (dot 2), then by a number again (this time without a number sign), then again by coma and number (without a number sign) and with a period (dots 256) at the end. The expected output, according to our standarts, should look like this: "#a4#b4#c4 bla-bla-bla". That is, we should have all the numbers preceeded by a number sign (dots 3456) and separated by a period (dots 256) without spaces with a period at the end. I use DBT with Russian language support enabled.

So, what should I do to achieve a disirable output?

Thanks in advance,

Sergei.
