  Hi Maurine,

For effective six-key entry, you should start with a new BRAILLE document,
and be in Braille View.

From the File menu, select New, and in the next dialog, select the Braille
Radio Button in the Document Type section.

Once you have the new document open, go to the View menu, and make sure that
"Braille Font" is ticked, as well as "Six Key Entry"

To all intents and purposes, you now have an electronic Perkins page in front
of you. Pressing the letter l will generate a dot 6 on the screen.

However, if you select "Print Font" for the View menu, you will essentially
see the ascii representation of what forms particular dot permutations, which
will not make sense to many people.

The full table is show below.

  George.

  Hello Everyone,
I'm slowly learning/ figuring out dbt and perky duck in terms of the 6 key
entry. However, I still have a few more questions. Neither program will allow
me to write in grade 2 braille and both programs think the dot 6 is a comma.
Also, for punuation I have to use the standard keyboard ones accept for the
capitol sign which I haven't figured out.
  Can anyone help meplease?
  Thanks Much,
  Maurine
p.s. My materials shipped yesterday to start the course so am attempting to
get this all figured out prior to them coming.
