I'm sorry Peg, I really shouldn't be sending e-mails at two in the morning.
I'm sorry I got your name wrong.

Thanks Peggy. That's what I wound up doing. Though I do miss the old //
method. Take care.

Hi, Bruce,

Happy New Year to you and everyone.

Just a thought on this: I wonder if one would insert a Grade 1 indicator
before the letters IT to ensure that Duxbury doesn't apply the whole-word
sign?

Subject: [duxuser] Uncontracting IT

I'm working on something pre-UEB, and I'm coming across IT, as in
information technology. Of course you don't want to be contracting here, so
how do I tell DBT not to do so? In the old days you put two slashes between
the I and the t, but this doesn't seem to work anymore. I could go into
grade one, type IT, then go back to grade two, but that strikes me as akin
to killing a fly with a sledgehammer. Is there some easy way to do this?
Thanks so much.

Bruce
