DBT and some networks do not play well together. I became aware of this quite a
few years ago when a user complained they had problems when they used the
school’s network. Once he started saving to the hard drive for active work,
there were no more issues.
I get an error message if I try to open any OneDrive file in DBT. I don’t let
OneDrive have access to my Desktop, so that is where I save active work. I keep
braille archives in Dropbox instead of OneDrive.
Your colleague needs to work with IT to set up a “safe” place out of OneDrive’s
reach. In the meantime, using a USB will help. Because external drives fail (I
have sad experience with that), I recommend that once the work is completed,
the files be moved to the computer.

Subject: [duxuser] One Drive problems?
Good afternoon!
Does anyone use Duxbury on a system that automatically saves to One Drive?
Having any problems? A colleague is having issues with losing work, files
corrupting, etc. She saves very frequently, but when these issues happen she
wastes a ton of time looking back for earlier files rather than redoing hours
of work. I'm not sure our system will allow us not to use automatic saving.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
