Hi Charles,

Is that XP Home or XP Professional?

How are you physically connecting it? Serial or Parallel?

If parallel, have you ensured that in BIOS the port is set to SPP
(Standard Parallel Port)

Have you tried setting up a Generic/Text Only printer on the port you
have the Emboss connected to, and in DBT's Global Embosser Setup
selected Windows Device and then the Generic/Text Only printer?

Have you tried say NotePad, and printing from NotePad to the device?
(This at least rules out DBT, and ensures the port itself is working in
XP)

That should keep you busy for a little while this morning. (Smile)

George.

Subject: [duxuser] MBosss-1 with DBT10.4 under Windows XP

A woman here is setting up a demo version of DBT 10.4 under Windows XP.
She is using an MBoss-1 printer. The MBoss-1 seems to work fine in DBT
for DOS in DOS (we tried it in DOS, not a DOS session under Windows)
The
MBoss-1 also works fine as a text printer with spooling on in Windows
98.
Howevver (you knew That was coming), nothing happens under DBT10.4 demo
in Windows XP. Has anyone had something like this, and any thoughts?

Thanks,
Charles
P.s. It'd be nice to get some service info on the old MBoss-1 beasty.
From Vtek, t TSi< to Blazie, who knows where now?
