The official Nemeth Braille Code reference, Rule II, Sec. 7.a. (page 7 in
print edition) states, "In all other cases, including ... page references
... the numerals of the Nemeth Code must be used."

So the page numbers at the corners and references to those page numbers
don't match in Nemeth even when the pages are numbered with ordinary digits.
The reader is supposed to know this.

In the case of the page numbers which are a letter followed by a number, you
might want to include a transcriber's note reminding the reader that these
are page numbers. After all, the reader is supposed to be able to read a
sentence such as, "The coefficient c1 is always positive" where you would
use the Nemeth notation which Lynn described so clearly, i.e. with the dot-5
multipurpose indicator separating the letter and Nemeth digit to "cancel"
the numeric subscript default.

Not following the rules is probably more confusing in the long run.

Sincerely,
Susan J.
