Susan,
I am working directly in Duxbury. I knew how to add the italics start code to
the beginning of each paragraph and to add the italics end code to the end of
the last paragraph. My hope was that there was a command in Duxbury that would
automatically add the italics passage to each paragraph instead of having to
add the code manually at the beginning of each one. I hope that makes sense.
Sincerely,
Debbie Haberkorn

Debbie,
You didn't mention what your workflow is. Are you working in Word? Are you
using SWIFT? Are you preparing the file in DBT?
If you are using SWIFT, I am going on the assumption you are using the BANA UEB
template. If that is the case, place your cursor at the beginning of the first
paragraph. Go to the UEB group in SWIFT and then Typeforms > Start > Italics
Start. Also insert this code at the beginning of your second paragraph. Place
your cursor at the end of the second paragraph and then insert the termination
code by navigating to Typeforms > End > Italics End. As with all DBT codes in
SWIFT, you will have to have your nonprinting formatting marks visible to see
the codes.
If you are only using Word, you will have to insert the [[*fts~i*]] code at the
beginning of the two paragraphs. Insert the [[*fte~i*]] code at the end of the
second paragraph.
If you are doing file prep in your .dxp file, insert the italic start code at
the beginning of each paragraph, and the italic end code at the end of the
second paragraph. It's probably best to be in coded view to make sure you get
the codes in the correct location. Press Ctrl-[ to open "Enter code and
parameters." Type fts~i for the start code and fte~i for the end code.

Subject: [duxuser] Italics passage indicator over multiple "paragraphs"
Is there a way to italicize multiple "paragraphs" so that the italicized
passage indicator appears at the beginning of each paragraph, but the italics
passage terminator is at the very end of the last paragraph?
