This is not something DBT will automatically do with imported files.
When DBT imports a file which has multiple paragraphs in italics it puts the
[fts~i] and [fte~i] code at the beginning and end of each paragraph.
If, in the .dxp file, before translating you remove each [fte~i] code except
the last one, this will fix it.
The technique which I personally use is:
In Word, remove the italics.
At the beginning of each paragraph add the [fts~i] code.
At the end of the last paragraph add the [fte~i] code.
I add the DBT codes in the Word file using the "double bracket, asterisk"
syntax.

Subject: [duxuser] Italics passage indicator over multiple "paragraphs"
Is there a way to italicize multiple paragraphs so that the italicized
passage indicator appears at the beginning of each paragraph, but the italics
passage terminator is at the very end of the last paragraph?
