Try going into the Menu, go to Tools, and enter on Options. I think it
might be in General.

I am having same trouble with my apostrophe in Word. I went through my
options file in word to try upchucking the "replace straight quotes with
smart quotes." as you suggested but I didn't see that choice there.
Where would I find the smart quotes to uncheck it in word?
