It was pretty amazing, being on an Amish Farm......I loved it!!!! QUITE the tales to tell!!!! Along with the Myler bit that I took, and am getting back this evening when I catch up with Libby Flowers (breeds Sport Morgans and Warmbloods here in Calif), I had also taken my GPS. I would wear it whenever we were out driving, and the Amish Farmer just LOVED it!!!!! He would change the paces and keep asking me, "NOW how fast are we going?" The pair could really open up on the straight aways!!!! OK, so the trucks still passed us going a LOT faster!! My two boys are 4 years old and 2 years old. The 2 year old will only be lightly worked until next year, but will be putting him in with the 4 year old a bit as we go along. The 4 year old is the more dominant horse, at least out of harness, that I know of for sure. Is there usually a dominant horse in a pair? What are the pros and cons to having a dominant member of a pair? What is the happy medium? There aren't any issues when they are together in harness, that I know of.......so hopefully this is just "hang time" behavior. They will be in a different environment, and I want to keep things pleasant between the two. For turnout time, should they always be together? Be next to each other in separate paddocks? The will each have their own barn space.....they have been in tie stalls, with turnout time. Am I thinking too much??? Carole Sweet nextpairout@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Modesto, CA Why Wait?
