Sterling, I like your reasoning (knee caps). I have always heard to put the
youngster on the right because it was easier to use the whip, the whip being
in your right hand. I wish I were more proficient with the whip any way.

are, thank you very much, and they are farther from harms way NOT directly
behind a greenie. Also, if one should need to touch the youngster with the
whip, they are already under it on the nearside. Not that we all shouldn't
be proficient in using the whip on either horse, but immediacy is some times
facilitated by location.
