Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the tip, I'll look at that. I really would like to isolate it. I get
skewered over at the Syntrillium forums when I mention that Cool Edit Pro could
have a bug or be responsible for any VST plug problem ! But that's cool I don't
mind gettin roasted from time to time there's some good info over there too.

Cool Edit official policy is that use of VST effects is unpredictable and
unsupported so they're kind of leaving me no choice. A lot of users over there
have no trouble so they work for the most part - but when they don't forget
about support.

just a thought Kyle:

there is a vsti-vst thing called chainer 1.03 [www.xlutop.com] that often
will solve such problems...

I understand this don't address the 'bug' wherever it is but this maybe a
solution for you to get what you want.

Let me say I'm not connected with xlutop in anyway except that I own the app
chainer, so I'm not promoting it, etc. That said, I have found that using
Chainer [which does run under Directixer just fine] often solves many
otherwise misbehaving vst and vsti 'problems'. It also adds a way of
working with plugins that is fantastic. Now to your specific prob... when
chainer is loaded and then has vst and\or vsti's loaded into itself with
whatever presets set in each, AND then you save the whole thing as a Chainer
preset... everything gets saved and comes back up as it should. Now if
this is a bug in coolpro, it may not work, but at least it would help to id
where the bug lives... %^)

Hope this is a little helpful at least...

Possibly it's a Directixer bug, possibly Cool Edit Pro. What do you think ?

preset but I would rather be able to click one button, save session, and
have all effect settings saved. That's a lot quicker than running thru each
track and saving effect settings as a preset after each change.
