Oh yeah, right! No, it's true -- many of = you don't go a day without
dishing out several doses of sarcasm. But some b= rain-damaged people can't
comprehend sarcasm, and Israeli researchers think= it's because a specific
brain region has gone dark.
The region= , according to the researchers, handles the task of detecting
hidden meanin= g, a crucial component of sarcasm. If that part of the brain
is out of comm= ission, the irony doesn't come through, the scientists
reportin the May is= sue of Neuropsychology.

Map Reveals Wind Power Potential

&nbs= p; Wind power could generate enough electricity to support the world's
ener= gy needs several times over, according to a new map of global wind
speeds t= hat scientists say is the first of its kind.
The map, compiled = by researchers at Stanford University, shows wind
speeds at more than 8,000= sites around the world. The researchers found
thatat least 13 percent of = those sites experience winds fast enough to
power a modern wind turbine. If= turbines were set up in all these regions,
they would generate 72 terawatt= s of electricity, according to the
researchers.
