BlankWell, maybe not. As sonar gets more and more control surface support, we
should be ablt to access more and more parameters from the control surface sdk.
The only problems may be inserting plugs and selecting presets, but I would
think there would be a workaround for that. I don't think we need the video to
do much any more. We can get location, selected status, markers, levels, and
even the effect names and through act many parameters. All this stuff is
exposed in the control surface sdk which can certainly be called from a program
like nvda, and through wineyes new scripting environment. I really think I
could write a set of scripts that will hardly need to look at the video display
at all.

Phil replied: true however, for that to become really viable, it will need a
video driver which, it currently doesn't have.

Even Vista 32 can't fully take advantage of the power of a quad core.
Only 64 bit OS will, and we still don't have access to 64 bit OS yet.

i'm actually in no hurry to move to vista, but i just bought a quad
core system, and i read on midimag a while ago that sonar won't fully utilize a
quad core processor unless you run vista with it. Is that true?

It may if you have the latest CT for Sonar 6 release. Anyway, why
the hurry to move to Vista?

So sonar 6 with ct 6 won't work well with vista?

Jaws with Vista as a whole works fine. Just make sure you have
the May 2008 update, However.
Sonar also works fine with jaws. I've tested this myself, just
make sure that you have the latest build of CakeTalking as well, version 7.2.43.
