From what I understand, even if you're able to generate an audio clip that has
a good pulse to extract a tempo, you're unable to have accessibility to the
clips tempo map from the Audio Snap dialog. You have to be able to edit that
before you can sync a project's tempo map to it. Perhaps there's another way to
do it, but I haven't figured it out yet. The only way I've been able to do it
is by converting an audio click track to a midi note in the Audio Snap dialog,
then do a Fit to Improvisation to sync the project to audio. That might be a
bit more challenging with CD tracks, unless there's a good rhythmic pulse that
you can work with; but then as Dave says, how do you deal with something that
isn't rock solid? Again, you can do it if you've got something to work with.

Another option, although more time-consuming, is to record a tempo in manually
as you're listening to the tracks, then do a Fit to Improvisation to sync the
project.

Take care.

Mike

Get it as close as possible, then you'll have to do some editing with the
audio track and the groove clip function.
